These groups, representative of an emergent artistic practice in several European cities and the world, develop a reflection on a participative or negotiated artistic experiment opened with art, architecture, the policy and the intervention in public space.

A RECENT HISTORY.
Formed during these fifteen last years, these collectives create new procedures of urban artistic intervention founded mainly on the concept of context (geographical, political, economic, human). According to the countries and the interests of the authors, these practices are gathered under various names (of which perfect equivalence would remain to show): Emergent projects in Belgium, Spontaneous initiatives in the United Kingdom, Gruppi multidisciplinari in Italy, Arte collaborativo in Spain or contextual Art in France. A new territory made up of topics, strategies and practices in urban environment seem discovered and to be explored by the cultural and university institutions. This meeting will be for the first time the occasion of an international inventory of situations of these new practices by the artists themselves.

ECONOMY IN QUESTION.
Presentation of these groups, diffusion of their documents (videos, pictures, sounds, texts…), debates will make it possible to largely question the concept of economy. How the economy intervenes in the production of these groups based mainly on the sharing of competences and the rupture of the disciplinary barriers? Up to what point these groups reinvest the political field by considering the economy in its more total characteristics : what is a noncommercial profit, how to consider the economy without entering the universe of the goods and the profit? etc.

STAKES
To invite the groups to assume themselves stating of their work, their program and his stakes. To take again from hands of the specialists (economists, politicans…) the thought of the economy and its links with culture and creation, to try to reinvent it. At the hour of the great changes of the national cultural policies, this meeting will make it possible to the french artists and creators - being part of a culture of public financing, or in a market culture - to consider the question of the economy as a part of the process of creation and, from there, to consider the possibility of choice.
